This old house property belonged to the family Santa Maria since more than 200 hundred years ago. Located  5 minutes from the city of Tarma, in the district of Sacsamarca (Junin), less than 240 km east (140 miles) of Lima. Stay in the Hacienda Santa Maria is a special experience. An authentic 1700 colonial construction, beautiful flower arrangements and smiles are waiting you with joy and color. Our old balconies invite you to enjoy the magnificent open landscape that surrounds us. The architecture of the large house is a clear example of the architectural style of the 18th and 19th century. Declared a Historical Monument in the 80’s, our antique doors and windows are open to share the magic of our customs and traditions, legends and stories, as well as hands-on workshops and Andean rituals. Tarma and Santa Maria´s Hacienda,  invites you to travel across the millennium paths of the Capac Ñan, discover hidden places and the fascinating strategic cities and sanctuaries of the Incas and pre-Incan cultures, clay houses, caves, cave paintings, beautiful artisan handicrafts, surrounded by colorful flowers and vegetables.

Our geographically strategic location permits to travel all day on good roads. You can visit Huagapo, San Pedro de Cajas, Tarmatambo, Yanamarca, the Huayllay Stone Forest, Junin Lake and the Paca Lagoon, the cities of Jauja, Concepción, Chanchamayo and La Merced, and the Mantaro Valley.
